(15,463 posts)they surrendered this information under pressure - most likely to avoid some type of legal penalty (or perhaps simply entanglement). "Give us the the records - or prepare to meet us in court." I'd also hazard that this is probably absolutely standard with accounting and financial firms. Quite obviously there are privacy standards.
