Training mannequins are getting an update: breasts - two years after a study found women are less likely than men to receive CPR in public. They are the latest talking point in conversations about how women navigate a world designed in some ways for men.
Earlier this year, a last-minute spacesuit switch saw the cancellation of Nasa's first all-female space walk, sparking bigger conversations about gender biased design.
Caroline Criado Perez, a journalist and the author of Invisible Women: Exposing Data Bias in a World Designed for Men, told the BBC she was totally unsurprised by the spacesuit debacle.
"This is just what happens over and over when it comes to what we design," she says. "We are so used to thinking of men as the default and women as the sort of niche - a variety of man."

and, in 2022, fcking depressing.

medication measurements.
The same exact deodorant but with a feminine scent and a ping package cost $1 more for women than men.
When I get into a car the entire front driver's seat is designed for someone whose height is the average man's height. I have to practically sit on a kiddie chair to be able to see 10' in front of me or reach the pedals.
When I have to drink the same amount of liquid to get a colonoscopy as a man does, that is fucked up. A 100 lb. woman and a 180 lb. man. drinking the same amount is ridiculous.
I could go on and on.
