He's playing with Bryson DeChambeau and Dustin Johnson, two of his "buddies" who used to play on the PGA tour.

The LIV Golf Tour is a Suadi sponsored alternative Tour to the PGA. They're offering shit-tons of money to golfers who are either too greedy, or not good enough to make much money on the PGA Tour. They've tried to lure the biggest names from the PGA with boatloads of money. They've gotten a few greedy bastards like Johnson, DeChambeau, Koepka etc. but for the most part they've only managed to lure over-the-hill players or those not good enough to compete on the PGA Tour.

Typical Saudi bullshit: buy what you can't create. The worst golfer in the tournament will take home $160,000 for a two day tournament.

The PGA Tour is a meritocracy, where those who play best will get the lion's share of the prize money. The worst player in their tournaments might take home $20,000 for a four day tournament.

The Saudis thought they could buy everyone away from the PGA. The bulk of the best golfers stayed with the PGA Tour though, so I can't see the LIV Tour ever making any money. It will probably last a few years, but soon the Saudis will tire of seeing the same old mediocre faces and they'll stop sponsoring it.

The PGA has banned players who left for the LIV Tour from participating in the four Major PGA Golf Tournaments; The U.S. Open, The Masters, The PGA, and Open Championship.

LIV, as far as I know, stands for the Roman Numerals LIV, meaning 54, the lowest possible score that can be achieved on their screwy scoring system, or some crap like that.

Myself, I won't watch them. The best golfers are on the PGA Tour, the Saudis can kiss my ass for their human rights abuses, and Khashoggi's murder.

Of course Trump would love them, and offer one of his "not PGA Tour quality" courses to host one of their 2nd rate tournaments. Trump has no loyalty or integrity, just like the "professional golfers" who jumped to the LIV Tour.
