1. My God. If Russians lost 75,000. I shutter to think about how many Ukraine lost.

I’m wondering if it’s millions. Everyday bombs are killing. Horrible!

are going to increase their firepower shortly, that Russian number will increase significantly too.

We always thought of it as huge because of its enormous landmass and the inclusion of all the "Soviet Republics" that are now independent nations. But aside from Moscow and St Petersburg, most of the country is sparsely settled and remote. 75,000 casualties out of that population is enormous.

…if he drops dead, I fear you may be right. Putin appears to lust for WWIII in Europe as a means of reuniting the former Soviet empire.

Aside from the humanitarian aspect, it is absolutely in our interest and in the EU’s interest to stop Putin where he is and drive Russia back out of Ukraine and Crimea, and to prevent his planned aggression in the Balkans.

actually the same is true in Ukraine and other former Soviet Countries also . I guess the gender gap will increase even more .

8. I remember seeing post-WWII population figures for the Soviet Union in college....

...with breakdowns by age and sex. The under-40 male population fell off a cliff, and the under-40 female population declined slightly. In that age group, the female-to-male ratio went from 1.1:1 pre-war to 1.85:1 post-war. It was literally a lost generation of men and women. It took decades to recover.
