I do admire the back pressure velocity, which I would like for clearing kidney stones. And judging from the purging at the end, it looks like the Kruger Park vet wont have to stick his arm up the rhinos butt anytime soon to check the prostate for functionality.

We had a hell of a ride off Hatteras coming down from Norfolk. First (and last) time I ever saw a chief puke.
Galley was a mess. Soup and Spam sandwiches saved the day.
That was Henley's decommissioning cruise before being given to another navy.

Must of been when we got back from the cruise in February. Nixon was there when we left on the cruise too in early September of 1972. Big photo ops both times. He was running for reelection. It was so phony. When we left Mayport we were in the Artic Sea doing exercises for six weeks. Our first port of call was Rotterdam, Holland. Soon as we tied up David flew back to the states to help the campaign for his father-in-law. Our last port of call was Barcelona, Spain. The day before we were to depart Barcelona for the states David rejoined the crew. Couple weeks later we pull into Mayport, Florida with the Navy band playing and the President welcoming home his war hero son-in-law. Puke

(17,615 posts)Don't they realize that these are the only types of "venues" he's able to get any more? When he had his last rally in Michigan it was at a venue near me and it's the same type thing. For that matter, until he had a rally in this place I had no idea it even existed. It's out in the boonies in a field with just a rutted dirt parking lot and porta johns for bathrooms.
Having said that, it's actually perfect for his supporters. They probably feel right at home.

In 1754, a young colonial officer from Virginia led an expedition to Fort Duquesne (now Pittsburgh) to order the French to leave the land that the British claimed.
He ran into heavy rain, mud, and difficulty getting horses and wagons out of mud ruts. In his private journal he grumbled about the terrain and gave his own opinion that maybe such a godforsaken land should be left to the French.
But he completed his mission, which perhaps prepared him for years later when he led the Continental Army in freezing December weather across the Delaware.
One of Pennsylvania's unsung contributions to winning the Revolution was its weather's role in training George Washington for bigger things to come.
I cracked up laughing when I read his journal entries about the spring weather in that region. Any modern resident of western PA could sympathize with him.
But why didn't he just use of one of those airports that his poor excuse for a successor said, over two centuries later, that the colonial army defended against the British?
