How much news are you consuming these days?

Are you watching more? Less? Watching differently? Reading online?

I ask because our house seems to be watching way less than we once did. I try to keep up with local news on local TV. I let that swing over to network news. We then watch Joy Reid. Then we go to Prime or Netflix or some other streaming service and watch that. Then the 11.00 local news and we're done.

I watch the local morning news and then the Today show, if I can stand them talking over each other.

I used to have MSNBC on in the background (like a radio) in my office but no more.

There seems to be a fog of ennui of late. Maybe the last 6 to 9 months. I still talk to the same people as always and nearly as much as always, but current events are not the main topic as they once were. Today, for example, we spoke a bit about Regeneron's misfortune and laughed about how that might cause a hiccup in Ron Deathsentence's campaign funding.

How about you?

Almost all DU and online news agencies, including our enemies which are mostly state-run news. It is good to keep up with what they are feeding their people just like Fox does here.

We stopped watching cable news about nine months ago. Hubster still reads the CNN and NYT apps. I scan WP, our local online paper, and here. It’s not ennui..it’s survival. I’m sure we’ll watch more once the 1/6 hearings start, but we seriously needed a break.

Decided to take a break in November and now I don’t miss it. I catch anything breaking here on DU.

I know who is with us and they are not. I get only WIFI from cable. I use here, local antenna news, network news, PBS. Cable news has become tabloidish?

And I subscribed to two newspapers. That ship has sailed. The more I know about what is going on, the worse I feel about it.
