I'm reading between the lines here

From the tone of AG Garland and President Biden’s speeches, I suspect the Justice Department has a solid-enough case to start moving against Trump Administration officials, and perhaps Trump himself. Jenna Ryan and Jacob Chansley, among the others that have been sentenced, didn’t get the sentences they did because the DoJ is nice people, it’s because they rolled over on the plotters.

1. That's not what I got from his statement.

If that was the case, I don't think he would have made a statement at all, he just would have started prosecuting people.

7. i still think it's extremely hard to get a unanimous jury voting to convict donnie.

all evidence and merit aside, surely there will be at least one juror who will put right-wing politics ahead of anything and refuse to convict.

as a result, it's entirely possible that they may decide that attempting to prosecute him might backfire when they can't get a conviction.

now, other members of his administration, sure. maybe even some family members. but not donnie himself, i just can't see it actually happening.

it *should* happen, and i certainly would jump for joy if it did, but i just don't see it coming to pass.

Will be impossible to get a jury to convict him.

'supreme dereliction of duty'.

Is that the direction they're headed? Can a Military Tribunal be used?

… do a brutal voir dire, especially in Federal Court.

I would bet that most Тяцмpers would be incapable of concealing their “patriotism” for very long, especially if the prosecutors were reasonably good at questioning the panel.

The numbers would be generally favorable. The most generous estimates I’ve seen say about 3 in 10 people across the country are psychotic Тяцмpers. Obviously more vote Republican, but we’re talking about the idiots that would put their fingers in their ears and stomp their feet during the trial.

That percentage would be significantly lower in DC, I think. But even if it’s not, that means only 13 or so have to be struck from a panel of 45. Very doable.

My experience has been that juries really try to do the right thing most of the time. If all of the Тяцмpers and all of the DUers are eliminated from the jury, that leaves the vanilla center. I wouldn’t want to be on Тяцмp‘s defense team.

I certainly hope it would play out like you describe, like it's supposed to.

I only know that Donnie would have access to really good and really evil experts in jury selection and that it only takes one juror to prevent a unanimous verdict...

Which is funny to say, given that the magats supposedly hate the elites who manipulate them so easily.
