Obama is being threatened by the oil barons over the Keystone XL pipeline. The Princes of Petrol are suggesting there will be “huge consequences” if things don’t go their way. Wonder if they still use severed horses’ heads to make known their wants and needs.
Obama has already post-poned any decision on the issue until after the 2012 elections, but the blackmailers are threatening their unnamed consequences if the President doesn’t move in the next 60 days. Or . . . else? The president of the APR (American Petroleum Institute for us civilians) Jack N. Gerard said it would be a “hug mistake” on the party of the President to delay the construction of the pipeline.
Adding to the pressure is the usual crop of Neocons in the House, who have installed “countdown clock” to track the number of days the President signed legislation requiring a speedy decision on the project. “Will President Obama choose jobs and energy security for America?” says the countdown clock unveiled Wednesday by Republicans on the House Energy and Commerce Committee. “America is waiting for President Obama’s decision.”
Forget the environment, people, Big Oil wants that pipeline! Get to work.
