Went to a Black Friday sale this morning...

(My wife had a 6 AM business call).

Stopped at BEST BUY at 6:30 AM to pick up some replacement hard drives. Place was empty. Was in and out in 5 minutes.

I wouldn't go near there any time this weekend. Guess they're finding out that being there so early wasn't necessary at all. If I bought anything at Best Buy, I'd probably do it online. I'd try to get it sent to the house, but I suppose I would go pick up the item at the store if I had to. Best Buy doesn't need a store, really, just a warehouse for people to pick up their online purchases.

I went to Walmart today at 6:00AM for an emergency order of some stuff. There was less than 20 people in the whole store, including the grocery area.

They're going to have deals all during the Christmas holidays. It's foolish to kill yourself going to these stores to get an item that they'll probably run out of before you can get to it. And people are buying online like crazy. I know that's where I'll be buying nearly everything.

However, with the pandemic I’m just not feeling it. I have already purchased my Christmas gifts but thought I would grab some stocking stuffers for cheap. However, once I woke up I decided I did not want to browse in stores with Covid and flu spreading…

when I go get groceries, and I often don't even do it then. I'll order the groceries online and do the curbside pickup.

I prefer to pick out my meat and produce, and I like wandering the store to get new meal ideas.

The only other time I won't order online is when buying lumber. I want to pick out the least shitty pieces available.

It is sort of fun to shop for groceries, as long as the store isn't too busy. I have a handicap and have to ride on one of those carts that you pick up at the door. They have a small number of them, so it's best to go to the store early, before the rush. If I get there too early, they don't have all the meat and produce out there, so it kind of defeats the purpose of shopping in person. So ordering online makes more sense for me. They always pick out good meat for me. The produce could be better, but that store doesn't have the best produce, anyway.
