But we are not the worst creature out there.

And weasels are pedophiles. Full grown males will rape pups that are days old still in the nest. They wait until the mother leaves to do it. Saw that on national geographic years ago. I never looked at ferrets the same way after that.

Life is a cruel sick ugly thing.
One reason among many I don't love nature. Or revere it.
I take care it knowing we depend on it to survive, but it gets no love from me .
Think about it.
Life evolves consiousnesss awareness of self, sense of the future etc etc. and eventually it learns you are born, you kill other beings to survive, just to die anyway.
Evolution is forced change by cruelty.
I think escaping the brutality of nature is a reason we formed societies and cultures and a social contract.
A contract which right now the republicans are systematically destroying.
Also life gets the shit traumatized out of it just by the conditions life endures. Evolution makes changes in living things over time yes, adaptation..but ever wonder what we are evolving into? When does evolution end? What's the endgame? Or is it never ending?
Born, kill to survive and die anyway ..if that isn't futility I dunno what is.
Is there any wonder there is so much mental illness?
It's horrible the conditions of life.
People try to make it better for everyone
but the sociopaths narcissists and authoritarians make sure we can't have nice things. Or nice lives.
What is the purpose these dark triad personalities when they abuse people with empathy. They hamper our survival as a species and destroy all progress to a better future for us and the planet. Why do they exist for?
Some societies would kill sociopaths once they revealed what they are by thier criminality. Killed them on purpose knowing the danger they represent to people not like them.
Enough idiots voted for sociopaths that they are fucking up our government.
Why do we put up with these shitty people for?
Just some thoughts .

(22,694 posts)We should be one of those societies that kills sociopaths to protect the rest of us from danger?

(13,369 posts)How would you stop them from destroying our world and society?
They will not respect any social contract even if it benifiets them.
I don't know what to do.
But we have to do something to stop them from destroying our lives, our mental health, our justice system, government, our society and the environment we depend on to live..

(5,960 posts)The problem space you have chosen to discuss is a trap.
Those who seek to control others to BENEFIT what they view as a proper society is the problem you are trying to solve. It is the snake eating its tail.
You can't be the arbiter or total justice without falling prey to that which you disdain.
Someone out there will view YOU as the evil one.
If the solution is to end the lives or imprison those you deem as destroyers then perhaps you have become that which you sought to control.
I understand you are merely trying to pose a question, the answer is, there is no answer that is just except the one that harms no one.

(13,369 posts)And as a society we have to deal with it.
I brought up what certain tribes did to illustrate what some people did.
I do not advocate killing people.
But what can we do? I don't know. These bad people have made our government grind to a halt.
However I would be ok if magically they went pouf overnight and dissapeared.
sarisataka
(22,694 posts)That is the low end estimate, roughly the population of Florida. At the high end it could be double, or more than the population of California.
That is a lot of folks to exile, lock away or otherwise make go 'pouf'

(914 posts)Both factually and conceptually.
There are also very dark and absolute directed thoughts. You don't seem to know the many ways personality disorders can manifest themselves. With the words you used you put a family member of mines head on a chopping block. A very productive member of society.

(13,369 posts)Who don't give a rats ass about others suffering.
Some people with mental illness don't actively seek to abuse others.
Some abuse everything they touch for every day of thier lives and leave a wake of traumatized lives behind them.
What would you do about it.
I brought up the tribes to show what they did to deal with the problem.
I don't know what to do myself, to stop the suffering some people are causing.
At some point you do have to draw boundaries. That is why we have a social contract for instance.
RegularJam
(914 posts)And it isnt minor.
I don't know what to do myself, to stop the suffering some people are causing.
Minimize. Not stop. And we already are putting a Herculean effort toward it.

(13,369 posts)They have gotten into power positions, they have ground our government to a halt. In states run by certain fucked up people they are passing bills that will hurt countless people, like the Texas heartbeat bill. Doing it because of delusions and religion and just because they are assholes and can get away with it..so far.
Already insurectionists
That videoed thier own crimes have been catered to and not gotten justice. Let out to go to vacation for instance. No black or brown or poor person would be treated like that. Bad people have infiltrated the justice system.
Our social contract is being undermined.
It sucks.
RegularJam
(914 posts)Around 500 insurrectionists have been arrested. The President was impeached.
We arent talking diamond mine labor here.
Most everyone I know had a very good day today.
Here is what I think you are getting at but missing(I say that very respectfully).
How do we make the sharing of our limited resources more equitable. Thats the ticket and has the greatest impact on what you are talking about.
I_UndergroundPanther
(13,369 posts)And how to we create a society that has the strong boundaries that keeps things equitable?
RegularJam
(914 posts)Even well matured people are resistant to it.
Wish I had a better answer. Senate apportionment and gerrymandering are killing us. They are probably our biggest impediment.

(40,689 posts)There are plenty of people making a million dollars a year or more who are not making the world a better place and leaving a lot of misery in their wake.
We need to build a society that doesn't reward people like that.

(5,960 posts)Life is what you make it.
You can view life as a underlying shitty construct or a wonderful opportunity to just be...to love.
Most of the workings of the world are out of your control, the trick is learning to let life flow, like water through a stream.
To divert the stream and try and control the flow usually results in temporary changes that require work to maintain. Effort spent in controlling the flow would be better spent investing in yourself.
I_UndergroundPanther
(13,369 posts)The environment around you is futile and go with the flow.
But some situations life causes can inflict harm that takes a lifetime to heal from.
Are you saying we should not care people suffer because of certain people's personality?
cayugafalls
(5,960 posts)Caring is the absence of control. You have no right to control others...even if you have deemed them evil.
I was abused as a child, mentally, sexually and physically, I have chosen not to hate, but to try and approach life as an opportunity to love.
You choose the path you walk. I ask no one to seek out my tormentors and inflict justice on them, that is my path.
It has served me well.
I_UndergroundPanther
(13,369 posts)Conquer all. And I proceeded to walk that path
It doesn't.
I tried your way of seeing things .
It got me hurt worse.
I had to ball up my fist and fight back. I'd be dead if I didn't.
I don't go around being an asshole. One of my friends told me I was the kindest person he ever met and yes I cried my eyes out and thanked him.. But I get frustrated angry and question why things are the way they are.
Controlling others is wrong yes . But do you think controlling others with prisons and cops that kill people is not controlling them?
How do you feel about having boundaries?
Life does not care about us really it just is.. There is no god that cares either.
Selective morality ..
How does that play into this?
I'm just raising questions to ponder.

(12,115 posts)Somethin' tells me it's all happening at the zoo
I do believe it
I do believe it's true
The monkeys stand for honesty
Giraffes are insincere
And the elephants are kindly but they're dumb
Orangutans are skeptical
Of changes in their cages
And the zookeeper is very fond of rum
Zebras are reactionaries
Antelopes are missionaries
Pigeons plot in secrecy
And hamsters turn on frequently
What a gas, you gotta come and see
At the zoo

It's been a long time since I thought of that song but this post reminded me of it.
