LOL. I still bristle sometimes when I hear the term, "the President" or "the Vice President."

My knee-jerk reaction of being repulsed when I hear them hasn't completely faded. After 4 long, interminable years of hell, I haven't quite made the switch in my head. It's like how I'd sometimes write the wrong date on checks for a couple of weeks after New Year's.

Then I realize who "the President" and "Vice President" are and my blood pressure suddenly drops and a feeling of well-being floods over me.

It always does for me after a transition, but this time I think we all have a smidgeon of presidential PTSD.

Whenever I hear that there is a statement from the president I am annoyed until I hear what it’s about.
Sometimes I hear Biden and in my head I see dump. It’s going to take a bit time.
PTSD is correct.

For just a second, my brain goes into 'What fresh hell is this?' mode and then I remember.

connect Trump with "the President."

Not this year! Haven't made a mistake with the year yet, and it only took a few days to think "Biden" when hearing "the President." The anticipation prepared me for the change!

he was in office I had to remind myself everyday that this wasn’t some joke or bad dream. That he really was “president”. So glad we have an actual competent, caring adult in office now.

To hit the mute button or change the channel. Hopefully that will change soon but at least now I can breath a sigh of relief.
