I'm listening to a very interesting TLP interview with Rep. Jackie Speier. She survived the

massacre at the airport in Jonestown, Guyana. She was a young staffer for Rep. Leo Ryan who was murdered and she was shot. She said yesterday's attack reminded her of that day--she was in the gallery and heard the shot that killed the woman coming through the window. She also spoke of the parallel between Trump and Jim Jones. If you're interested, it begins at the 16:43 mark:

On edit:

It's disturbing that Rep. Speier said that all of the Republican reps had been ushered out of the gallery before the siege began and that there were only Democrats in the room when things started to go down. How and why were Republicans ushered out and Democrats were left there? Something is not right. I wish they'd gone into more detail about that.

Seen interviews both then and now on the situation she faced.

Brave, calm, collected. Good woman.

They should have been evacuated way before the mobs got to the gallery.

It really upset me to see them breach the barricades and see them wondering around and nothing happened. So was congress in session when the woman was shot?

I don't know why it would be repubs on floor and dems in gallery, but whoever was on the floor was ushered out first. I also think those who didn't expect to be doing any speaking were expected to hang out in their offices.

Jackie probably chose not to speak.

The objection speeches were mostly "for show"....New members gave speeches to get their 15 minutes of fame.
Republicans held up pocket constitutions.etc etc

I watched everything yesterday...Those guys were wandering around the capitol while congress was in session. I was thinking, "Why haven't they evacuated?" It seemed to go one for 20 minutes until they finally recessed.

I knew about her surviving Jonestown, fortunately she survived this as well. I also wonder about R being removed already, I hope we hear more about this.

on to give her perspective.

And, this!.. More parts of the puzzle to investigate thoroughly! I hadn't heard about the repubs being ushered out before.. How Would they Explain That?!

How and why were Republicans ushered out and Democrats were left there? Something is not right. I wish they'd gone into more detail about that.
