The target audience lives in the fancy suburbs of small midwestern and southern cities. They watch Pox News and think their preachers never lie. Their stock portfolios are looking good (although the earnings are down, something most of them don't care that much about) and they can buy new guns whenever they want to.

So they think he's doing a great job.

This ad is trying to bust through the smug complacency. I'm not sure how effective it will be at that, I think too many of them will just change the channel if it ever gets onto TV.

I don't post a great deal but I've been around DU for a lot of presidential elections. Every time, we have people appear who promise us that they have "the Thing that will bring (insert name) down!" Usually, they have nothing and are just promoting themselves, their books or their website. Ask any of the old timers here. It happens every election.

Trump is obviously an order of magnitude more corrupt and more stupid than any of his predecessors for at least the last hundred years, but I am not going to hold my breath waiting for a promised "October Surprise" from this guy or anyone else. Stay energized, get the vote out. That is what matters.
