The Mueller graf in my new piece was added literally seconds after it posted and seconds before we went to press, and the more I contemplate the leak, the more interesting I find it.
Ask yourself why this is leaking now, kids.
There's some bad blood in the water.

(24,746 posts)paper " is the expression used at DoJ for when someone has thought about something, often writing drafts and taking days to think and finally "goes to paper." Going to paper is a serious decision. Neal Katyal casually used the phrase talking to Lawrence. Then Lawrence, who has worked as Senate staff, said that letters aren't meant for only the addressee. It's understood that letters are for potential public consumption. So Mueller took a significant step in going to paper.

(53,410 posts)Thats a very important part of the reason to write them. They become part of the public record.

(8,203 posts)He's in a position to know about Mueller's letter & the phone call, & he deliberately shared this with reporters the day before Barr is scheduled to testify to ensure Barr will be asked about it.

Rosenstein will live in infamy for the rest of his life, he deserves it, he seems to have worked hard at it.

(64,378 posts)Pandering, so obsequious, that it is probably being viewed as sarcasm by the DoJ. It was really beyond ridiculous.

(7,142 posts)in the Senate tomorrow. If he backs out it isn't going to look too good, if he goes to the hearing he is going to have to answer a lot of questions about why he lied to Congress and to the American people.
It's getting close to time for Democrats to call for Barr's resignation. Time to play hard ball.

Mueller's people work for nearly two years and Barr pisses all over it.
They just needed a proper setting to begin their counterattack...
...like Barr testifying tomorrow in the Senate and Thursday in the House.
It's about fuckin time.

(5,396 posts)J/K of course.
But the fact is, Bill's comments are just the obvious questions on all Patriots' minds today.
And Mueller is seeing the corruption ongoing, and hopefully, is moving on to the backup plan.
