with Alzheimer for a few years. I see very similar symptoms with all of the lies, conspiracies, and made up situations that he imagines.

(63,221 posts)Do we just let a mentally incompetent president serve out his term or is someone going to finally decide it's time for the 25th amendment?

(43,273 posts)They might think they have plenty of time to act after his term expires.
If they don't step in now he can do a lot of people a lot of harm.

(2,256 posts)I am not referring to any sort of TV show. Trump has bee promiscuous all of his adult life. Most likely he has some sort of venereal disease, and he is showing symptoms of untreated syphilis.

(6,709 posts)iirc it requires a majority of the cabinet to vote to remove tRump under the 25th amendment.* So that would take 13 of 24 cabinet officials/secretaries. My question is: do acting secretaries count? and if not, what are we down to?
*I know that's just the first step btw
Totally Tunsie
(11,854 posts)have not gone through the Senate confirmation process, and thus may not qualify to invoke the 25th. tRump is shifty enough to keep his cabinet in such chaos for just this reason. Undoubtedly, any attempt to invoke during the present situation would face a long and hard fought court battle in an attempt to identify eligible cabinet votes. Seems like that could easily be dragged up to the 2020 election without being resolved. Not to mention, the Pencie worm would still have to turn...
Trying to use the 25th would be a nail biter, for sure.

(100,133 posts)In the past he always was a malignant narcissist with no sense of empathy or compassion, who bellowed and bullied his way through life. Aside from being born wealthy, one of his greatest assets was his ability to talk people into almost anything. He didn't have great intelligence, but he had verbal manipulative skills in addition to thuggish physical behavior.
So now it's slipping away. There are times when he babbles and makes no sense at all. He's still a bellowing narcissistic bully, though. Just don't be fooled into thinking he is not also demented.
The people enabling him and covering for him are doing so because they see some personal advantage for themselves, not because they have any concern for the country.
