It's not a hoax... James Ingram has indeed passed away.

malaise posted moments ago that Mr. Ingram had died. There was confusion which. apparently, led to her deleting the post. Seems that just two days ago there was a hoax announcement that Mr. Ingram had died, as reported here.

But that was then and this is today and his long-time, dear friend Debbie Allen has announced his passing on her twitter feed:

Debbie Allen: I have lost my dearest friend and creative partner James Ingram to the Celestial Choir. He will always be cherished, loved and remembered for his genius, his love of family and his humanity. I am blessed to have been so close. We will forever speak his name.

I loved the voice and the songs of James Ingram. I will miss him and his soulful ways.
