very consciously look for uplifting things to counter the negative, which can engender hopelessness and just plain wear you down. Something uplifting like this ...lifts up! And strengthens.

We got them all at different times. They're all buddies. The dogs lick the cats. The cats rub up against the dog's. They often all sleep together in a pile. They even eat out of the same bowls together. They like each other, and always have.

We got the newest cat at just six weeks old. Brought it home and just put it on the floor with the rest. One male beagle adopted it immediately. Carried it around. Played with it. Washed it.

Weird, but true.
